HOPKINS COUNTY FISCAL COURT

SPECIAL MEETING

GOVERNMENT CENTER

NOVEMBER 13, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

The Special Called Meeting of the Hopkins County Fiscal Court was held at Hopkins County Government Center and was called to order by Hopkins County Judge Executive.   Invocation was given by Magistrate Larry Wilson.   Roll call was taken and a quorum was established with all Magistrates being present except Magistrate Shaun Roberts.  

NEW BUSINESS: A) Resolution 2013-13 – Resolution of Agency Transferring from Non-Hazardous to Hazardous Coverage as defined by KRS 61.592 (1) (b) – Motion to approve by Magistrate Maurice Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Groves. Discussion: Magistrate Larry Wilson asked Sheriff Latham what employees will follow under the Hazardous Coverage and Sheriff Latham stated it was the sworn full service deputies; this does not include part-time Court Bailiffs and office staff.

 

B) Employee Benefits:   Discussion about Flexible spending – New employees must wait 60 days after employment for flexible spending to begin. Motion by Magistrate Larry Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Toney to approve the waiting of 60 days after employment for flexible spending to begin at the first of the month following the 60 days.   Motion carried.

 

The Balance in flexible spending as of December 31 of each year will revert back to the County. Motion to approve the rule “if you don’t use it you lose it” for the flexible spending balance of December 31 of each year by Magistrate Larry Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Welch. Motion carried.

  

Adjournment: Motion to adjourn by Magistrate Larry Wilson and seconded by Magistrate Maurice Wilson.    Motion carried.
